Job Duties for the Senior Engineering Manager in Rochester, NY:
- Responsible for overseeing entire Engineering Department.
- Develop and maintain processes, tools, resources, and skills to support rapid development and launch of new products and sustainment of existing products. Investigate and recommend new tools and technologies as appropriate.
- Understand the new product development process, its impact on the various departments, and help train the department on the execution of its deliverables. Recommend and assist in revisions of the system.
- Provide technical guidance and support to all Engineering departments and staff.
- Prepare and conduct departmental presentations and reviews.
- Provide critical input, analysis, support, and approval on engineering documentation; participate in design reviews.
- Research, develop, and implement personnel management methodologies and tools that promote employee engagement and growth.
- Develop, educate, and ensure continued compliance with departmental standards.
Job Requirements for the Senior Engineering Manager in Rochester, NY:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or related technical discipline required (BSME preferred)
- 5-10 years of engineering and/or manufacturing experience is required, in medical device manufacturing or other regulated industry is preferred.
- Experience training and managing technical personnel preferred.
- Experience with ISO 13485 preferred.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for the Senior Engineering Manager in Rochester, NY:
- Expertise in interpreting engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with CAD software and product data management (PDM) tools.
- Working knowledge of best practice design methodologies.
- Working knowledge of medical device regulations and their application in regard to new product development.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques such as Red X and Convergent Problem Solving.
- Proficiency with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools, and document control principles.
- Demonstrated technical leadership in engineering, design, and manufacturing; ability to manage technical staff and lead cross-functional teams.
- Professional development and coaching & counseling ability.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office programs.
- Extensive knowledge of Engineering and Manufacturing best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, including technical writing and delivery of executive-level presentations.
