We are seeking an Operational Risk Specialist for our client in Phoenix, AZ. The Operational Excellence team is the team with a mission to enable business growth and objectives while maintaining a strong control environment. The Operational Excellence team acts as a Center of Excellence within the business, and assists in the identification, measurement, monitoring, and management of Operational Risks related to the business products, processes, and initiatives. Operational risk is the risk to the current or projected business objectives and resilience arising from inadequate or failed internal processes or systems, human errors or misconduct, or adverse external events.
This position will be assisting in managing Business Continuity (Planning for when things don’t go as planned), managing regulatory risk, and understanding our customer experiences expressed through customer complaints within the department.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate, build relationships, and engage with colleagues in the business to perform Business Impact Analysis’ and understand associated risks if processes are disrupted
- Assist in creating Business Continuity Plans that teams can follow during a business impacting event (e.g., Natural Disaster, Pandemic, Terrorist Attach, etc.)
- Assist in Customer Crisis Recovery when our Clients are impacted (e.g., Hurricane Ida) and regular processes need to temporarily be turned off and/or communication needs to be sent to our Clients
- Assist in building Business Self Testing reporting and distribution
- Assist in monitoring customer experiences by reviewing complaints
